Studio
Policies
Everything you need to know, all in one place.
-
Bookings are paid in full at the time of scheduling – this payment holds your booking spot.
-
It is your responsibility to plan and book for your shoot responsibly. We do not offer cash or card refunds for any reason after your booking is confirmed. Your booking is considered to be confirmed once your payment has been received. We are able to provide credit for rescheduling your booking if the request is made within no less than seven days prior to your booking date. Rescheduling bookings after the seven day mark will incur an additional fee equal to 50% of your original payment. Within any less than 48 hours notice, we will not offer any credit.
-
We currently do not offer a parking spot for bookings, and the building parking lot is strictly off-limits to non-residents. Please use the nearby Green P parking lot, and give yourself enough time to park and collect your things before heading in. Arriving late to your booking will only impact the amount of time that you have in the studio, as we do not extend bookings. Plan accordingly.
-
We strictly do not provide additional time to bookings due to late arrivals. The amount of time you have booked for is the amount of time you have, from load-in to leaving.
-
Remaining in the studio past the end of your booking will incur overtime fees at 1.5x our hourly rate, billed in 15 minute increments, and starting the minute after your booking ends. We do not offer a grace period at this time and ask that you schedule your booking accordingly. Please note: Overtime fees will be automatically charged to your card on file.
-
We are not responsible for any of your personal effects. If you forget an item, please contact us immediately and we will do our best to find it and store it for you in a safe place until you are able to retrieve it.
-
We are a lifestyle studio fully designed with furniture and decor. Large furniture pieces such as couches, tables, and consoles are not to be moved for any reason. Smaller decor pieces and small furniture pieces (chairs, side tables) can be delicately moved around our space as long as they are all put back exactly where they were at the beginning of your booking. For your convenience, you can view our image gallery to see exactly where to return items. Any items moved must be carefully lifted and not dragged to not damage our carpets or flooring. Any damage to our furniture, decor, or space due to moving items will be charged under or cleaning and damage policy.
-
To preserve our white flooring, rugs, and furniture we have a strict shoe policy. No outdoor shoes are to be used in the space. Please bring a clean pair of indoor shoes to use in our space (or wear socks if you are comfortable). Failure to comply may result in additional charges under our Cleaning & Damages Fees policy.
-
Our building is mixed-use, which means that there are other commercial units as well as residential units. The hallways of our building are strictly off-limits for your booking aside from entering and exiting. This means you cannot photograph, record, take phone calls, or linger in the hallway. We also ask that you be mindful of the level of noise produced within the studio itself.
-
We factor routine studio maintenance fees into our pricing. These fees do not account for the following: stains, broken and damaged amenities, reorganisation of studio settings, and excessive messes (i.e. garbage not thrown away in provided garbage bins, leaving big spills or any extremely dirty surface resulting from your production). Fees for any of these instances begin at $50, and are subject to change depending on the costs of labour, repair, and cleaning required to correct them. Please note: cleaning & damage fees will be charged to your card on file.
-
The studio space is monitored by surveillance cameras. This is for the safety of all guests, and in fairness to all bookings should any issues regarding overtime, damage or excessive mess arise.
-
We routinely sanitise and disinfect high-touch surfaces, dispose of household garbage, clean and clear studio floors, and generally maintain the sanitation and cleanliness of the studio. We also abide by the recommendations of local health authorities concerning the transmission of COVID-19. We do not provide masks (and they are not mandatory), but we do encourage the use of them in our space, and we provide hand sanitizer in the studio for your use.
-
Please note: our studio is heated by radiators, and they get extremely hot. We ask that for your own safety, you be careful not to touch them or leave any of your personal or our studio items too close to them to mitigate any risk of damage. Feel free to open the windows and use the fan during your booking, but please close them and turn the fan off prior to leaving. We are not responsible for injury or personal property damage resulting from failure to abide by this policy.
What’s allowed in the studio? Check out the list below.
Allowed
-
Yes, you can (and should) bring your own equipment into the studio. We do not provide any equipment at this time aside from two standard C-stands, and cannot accommodate you should you not bring something you need.
-
Outside food is allowed in our space, but you are responsible for properly cleaning and disposing of all mess associated with any food items you bring into the studio. Failure to do so may result in additional fees under our Cleaning and Damages Fees policy.
-
You may use our kitchen to cook food for your production, but we are not fully equipped, so bring what you need, clean everything, and leave nothing, please.
-
Obviously, people are allowed (share the space with your friends, yay!), but we have a 10 guest limit. If you have more than 10 guests, please contact us prior to booking so we can assess accordingly.
-
We allow the creation of adult content in our space, but you are responsible and liable for your own production and must abide by our policies.
Not Allowed
-
Even small or really, really cute ones. :(
-
This one is a given, but please help us ensure the health and safety of other guests in our studio and building by refraining from smoking indoors. Please abide by any signage outside of the building indicating where you may and may not smoke.
-
This falls under the excessive mess category. Glitter & Confetti get everywhere and never leaves, so we ask that you don’t bring it into the studio at all.
-
Some pieces are heavy, and we ask that you please lift rather than drag to maintain the integrity of the furniture and our floors. Failure to comply may result in additional fees under our Cleaning and Damages Fees policy.
-
As stated in our Respect Our Neighbours policy section, we ask that you be mindful of the other units in our building.
-
We are a studio space, not an apartment, so we ask that you do not use the shower in our bathroom.
Maybe – Just Ask
-
Only for shooting purposes, not for consumption. Please advise us of any alcohol brought into the studio during the booking process.
-
If you need to bring in furniture or any other large items for your shoot, we will see what we can do to accommodate you, but we will not remove our own items from the unit. Any damage incurred from these items is subject to our Cleaning and Damages Fees policy.
-
Ask us about using smoke machines in our space prior to booking.
-
Wondering about something for your shoot that’s not listed here? Please reach out to us prior to booking so that we can see what is possible.
